Summer on the Rec Photos
Summer on the Rec this year was held on a beautiful summer's day, and hundreds of people converged on Weston Rec for an afternoon of fun, food and family. It all started with a service in the marquee for people from all the Weston churches. Then lots of families and friends started to arrive and set up their tents and picnic areas around the Rec. There was lovely food for everyone, from the hog roast to vegan, lots of ice cream, drinks from the bar, and wonderful cakes from Love Weston Café. The football tournament organised by Get Sported was incredibly popular with the children, as was the amazing Kidszone with all its activities and the bouncy castles. The adults enjoyed browsing down the 'Village Street' with lots of stalls and fun activities set up by local companies and organisations. The brilliant Funk Tuckers were stunning on stage, as were three young local solo singers and the Boys Brigade Band. And at the other end of the Rec the Prayer Tent was busy all afternoon.
And to cap it all, a load of lovely woolly sheep arrived and then escaped to run wild around the Rec.
It was a great day for Weston Village.
