Eagles Malawi Spring 2019 Newsletter

Please click here to read the latest newsletter.

Since the newsletter went to press, the Typhoon Idai weather system has brought days of torrential rain to Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. The widespread flash flooding with some villages and towns under water.

Thanks to your generosity, we have been able to transfer funds to the team at Eagles extremely quickly, before the launch of the public appeal by some of the major charities.
The first £2,000 sent was used to procure emergency food items such as flour, beans, salt and cooking oil and this has already been distributed to people sheltering in camps. The Eagles team have also been working alongside Tearfund personnel in Chikwawa, one of the poorest regions of Malawi, to deliver food.

We will continue to update you about the situation on the ground and to let you know how these emergency funds are being spent - not only to rescue people in distress but also to help them rebuild their lives again.

Our appeal currently stands at £13,535. We are extremely grateful to all those who have responded so far both from All Saints Weston and further afield. If you would like to contribute, the details about how to do so can be found in the newsletter above or on the Eagles website here

With thanks
