Baptism Sunday 27 June at 11am

Baptism Promo 2021

This last year has been tough in many ways for different people. But is has also been one of discovery and growing in faith. Baptism is a significant and important part of the journey of following the way of Jesus. It is an outward sign of an inward reality.

On 27 June at 11am there will be a number of people who are going to take this step of publicly declaring their faith, with baptism or reaffirming their baptism by full immersion. Some have grown up at All Saints, some have been worshiping here for a long time, others have started to follow Jesus during the pandemic.

We had hoped that lockdown would have finished by this time, but we can't put off celebrating, praying and marking this important moment. So we are going to go ahead but with the usual covid restrictions in place:

  • The service will be outside with the baptisms also taking place outside in the churchyard.
  • The service will be live streamed and to our usual channels on Facebook and Youtube. (view here)
  • Please respect social distancing, including restricting the groups that you stand with.
  • If the weather is fine then please bring a picnic to have in the churchyard afterwards.
  • If the weather looks poor, then please bring appropriate clothing. We will set up a marquee for the baptisms outside, and will also stream the service into the church if needed.
  • You will not need to get a ticket for this event, but should large numbers be present then please follow the directions of the welcome teams so we can all remain safe.

If you have been thinking about baptism or reaffirming your faith by full immersion, then please get in contact with Mark so that we can talk it through. We are running a session of baptism prep via Zoom on Tuesday 22 June at 7pm, but could also do this later in the week. Contact Mark for the link.

Please pray for those who are taking this important step. As we said at the start of the pandemic, "the church is not closed, the church is people". As we celebrate baptism, we see God growing and renewing his church.
