Memory Verse Challenge


Here's a new venture. I will be sending out five short videos each week with a different memory verse (sometimes paraphrased) each day, all on a theme. The challenge is to learn and remember them and then video and yourself saying them and send the video to me. Let's see how much of the wonderful, uplifting, challenging, amazing bible we can get stuck into our heads.
 

Week 7 - Theme: The Lord's Prayer

Day 1: Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed by Your name. Matthew 6:9

Day 2: Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Matthew 6:10

Day 3: Give us today our daily bread. Matthew 6:11

Day 4: Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Matthew 6:12

Day 5: Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Matthew 6:13


 

Week 6 - Theme: Prayer

Day 1: He went up on the mountain by himself to pray. Matthew 14:23
 
Day 2: If we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive. 1John1:9

Day 3: Don't worry about anything. Instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Philippians 4:6

Day 4: The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16

Day 5: Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18


 

Week 5 - Theme: Who Is Jesus?

Day 1: I Am The Bread of Life. John 6:14

Day 2: I Am The Light of The World. John 8:12

Day 3: I Am The Resurrection And The Life.  John 11:25

Day 4: I Am The Way, The Truth And The Life: John 14:6

Day 5: I Am. John 8:48
 


Week 4- Theme: What is God Like?

Day 1: 'He who promised is faithful'. Hebrews 10:23


Day 2: 'He hears us whenever we ask anything that pleases him.' 1 John 5:14

 

Day 3: 'The Lord does what is right and He loves justice.' Psalm 11:7

 

Day 4: 'You do not stay angry forever, but delight to show mercy.' Micah 7:18

 

Day 5: 'Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.' John 14:9
 


Week 3 - Theme : What is God Like?

Day 1: 'He counts the stars and calls them by name'. Psalm 147:4

 

Day 2: 'I the Lord your God am a jealous God.' - Exodus 20:5

 

Day 3: 'After the fire, there was the sound of a gentle whisper.' - 1 Kings 19:12

 

Day 4: 'He is the Rock.' - Deuteronomy 32:4

 

Day 5: 'The Lord is compassionate and merciful, Slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love Psalm 103:8



Week 2 - Theme: God Knows Me

Day 1: 'See, I have written you name on the palm of my hand.' - Isaiah 49:16


Day 2: 'I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb.' Jeremiah 1:5

 

Day 3: 'Oh Lord, You have searched me and You know me.' Psalm 139:1


Day 4: 'I am the Good Shepherd. I know my sheep and my sheep know me.' John 10:14


Day 5: 'But at that time, I will know fully. Just as God has fully known me.' 1 Corinthians 13:12



Week 1 - Theme: Creator God

Day 1: In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1


Day 2: You knit me together in my mother's womb. Psalm 139:13


Day 3: God made man and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. Genesis 2:7


Day 4: God created human beings in his own image. Genesis 1:27


Day 5: If you obey me...you will be my treasure. Exodus 19:5
